Wimbledon 2022: Emma Radcliffe wins first center court game as Andy Murray starts with a win

Wimbledon enters the title spot at the All England Club on the third day with Emma Radukano, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic, after a dramatic defeat to Serena Williams last night.

Today’s game order is looking back at the Radocons after the start of the center court and looking to pass Caroline Garcia, although the mother will be third in the center with the possibility of a late drama against big serve John Asner. The home preferences start after Djokovic started against 26-year-old Tunisian Kokinakis of Australia.

Cameron Norie (vs. Jim Minar), Heather Watson (vs. Kiang Wang) and Harriet Dart (vs. Rebecca Masarova) will keep moving from the first two impressive days for the British players in SW19, as is Ryan Penston, 26. A one-year starter who won his first Grand Slam in the first round. He first faces veteran American Steve Johnson in Court 3.

Elsewhere, exciting Spanish teenagers Carlos Alcaraz (vs. Talon Greekspor) and Women’s World No. 2 Anne Jabier (vs. Katarzyna Cava) are heading to Court 2 and House 3 this afternoon, respectively, while the Wimbledon champions Angelique Kerber and Garbine Muguroza are also in House 2.

Wimbledon 2022: Ryan Penston 1-1 * Steve Johnson

Penniston struggles with his serve at the start and Johnson attacks the second serve to create a few break chances, but Britain gathers themselves and fights for Davis, before winning two quick points to keep the service. It was a pivotal moment in the start of the game.

Wimbledon 2022: Ryan Penston * 0-1 Steve Johnson

Steve Johnson serves first and wins the game fairly fast to finish the 30th Pinston game with a dumped return in the net. Hopefully his nerves are broken and healed soon.

Penston is facing a tough task against 32-year-old American Steve Johnson who has built a strong, low-value career at the top and was ranked 21st in the world in 2016.

Johnson loves grass and his best Grand Slam singles performance came at Wimbledon in 2016, reaching the fourth round. He also has two ATP 250 titles in the grass.

Ryan Penston’s remarkable story

First on Court 3, when the game finally starts, is Ryan Penston, who has an unusual story.

He said having cancer as a child was a “secret blessing” for him to “harden as an athlete” after winning his first singles game at Wimbledon.

The 26-year-old Wildcard was cheered on by his parents, Paul and Penny, loudly by the side of a full court to witness his victory over Henry Laxman of Switzerland.

At one year of age, Peniston was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a tumor near his stomach, which required surgery and chemotherapy before regular examinations.

The Essex-born player has already attributed his late rise in tennis to struggling with it as a teenager, as he grew up “a foot smaller than all my friends”.

The rain delay begins at Wimbledon

The game will now be postponed until 12.15pm after a series of mini-rains drowned Wimbledon and most of the courts were gutted as their covers were removed after the heavy rain ended around 11am.

Placing myself in the third court this morning, where there is no shelter from the rain, was a big mistake.
