The largest suspension footbridge in the world is inaugurated in the Czech Republic

(CNN) – Walking from one mountain to another, floating high above the ground with only a huge valley yawning from below, is not for the faint of heart.

But thrill seekers – and infrastructure enthusiasts alike – will flock to the holiday resort of Dolní Morava in northeastern Czech Republic to climb the world’s largest suspension pedestrian bridge.
Under construction for the past two years, the 721-meter (2,365-foot) opening, aptly named Sky Bridge 721, officially opened on May 13th. The corridor promises stunning views of the cloud-covered Jeseníky Mountains and an overall electrifying, albeit slightly frightening, experience.

Austrian blogger Victoria Fellner visited Sky Bridge 721 earlier this week as part of a preview event, sharing photos on her Instagram account.
Fellner told CNN Travel that taking her first step on the bridge was a “concern.”

But this initial fear subsided as he admired the surrounding landscape.

“I was afraid the suspension bridge would shake a lot, but it wasn’t that bad,” Fellner said. “The view is really spectacular and you can even see the forest from below through the trellis! Fortunately I am not afraid of heights.”

The Sky 721 bridge, which hangs from cables, hangs 95 meters above the bottom of the valley and extends from 1,110 to 1,116 meters above sea level. The bridge is accessible by cable car and the walk is one way. At the exit of the corridor on the other side, visitors can follow a paved forest path full of signs that describe in detail the history of the Czech Republic. There is also a similar virtual reality phone game.
