The Elden Ring Speedrunner easily beats the bosses with one blow

Elden Ring is full of tough bosses, many of whom have no problem quickly showing you the nearest grave if you get lost, and defeating them is often a matter of slowly erasing their large health bars until you breathe a huge sigh of relief. The words “Enemy Felled” finally appear. One player, however, wanted to give it to the bosses as well as they did, and then some. Thus, he strengthened his Tarnished to shoot many of the game’s toughest opponents, from Morgott to Radahn, among others.

BushyGames, a Twitch streamer and Elden Ring speedrunner, uploaded a nearly 50 minute video to YouTube on May 16. The video showed Bushy trying – and succeeding – to defeat FromSoftware action-RPG by killing each boss in a single blow. There were some rules that Bushy set before starting such a difficult task. For example, he could only carry out one attack per enemy or per boss phase (for bosses like Rannala, who have multiple phases, which makes it impossible to completely deplete their health line with a single attack) and must avoid use of cheap beam spell Comet Azur unless “absolutely necessary to complete the challenge”. Otherwise, he gave himself the freedom to use whatever object or technique was available to assist him in his search. This included things like buffs and glitches, many of which Bushy used to survive hell.

After creating Tarnished named One Punch Man, Bushy looked for Lands Between for equipment. Collect items like Talisman ax and Sharp cracked tear for increased burden of attack. Collect various ferrous stones and weapon skills, such as Ash of War: Determination, which strengthens the power of your next attack. He also grabbed Night’s Calvary’s equestrian boss, forcing him to jump off the bridge, all before grabbing his pagan weapon: the colossal power escalation Giant Crusher hammer. Bushy was level up here and there, but he did not spend as much time on these screens as simply exploring Lands Between for resources and killing enemies for runes.

Things came to a head when Bushy got the Giant-Crusher. He flattened the hammer several times and performed some Wrong Warp dodging missions to quickly navigate the map to find high-quality resources – such as advanced blacksmiths to further strengthen his weapon – before testing his ability to strike with a single blow. his first real boss fight: the Deathbird in the Lakes of Lakes. Bushy tried it once, filling himself with items like consumable HP-recovering Aromatic Bloodboil and the spell that increases defense Golden Oath, only to shave about half of the boss’s health bar with the single, powerful blow of his hammer. A failed second attempt was significantly better, with Deathbird somehow hanging on to the smallest piece of health after Bushy’s attack, but the third time was charming.

After three hours of breeding and leveling his hammer once more, Bush hit his Tarnished with the same objects, went to the Deathbird and killed the rotten thing with one blow. “Whack! W“” exclaimed Bushy excitedly. I will not lie, I felt it too. Repeat the process for each boss, going from Margit, Fell Omen to Rennala, the Queen of the Full Moon, performing a ritual of self-destruction before the start of each race.

Not every meeting went as it should. Radahn, for example, forced him to trade certain types of stock to maximize his loss by choosing Frenzy flame spell until he can handle it better Jellyfish shieldContagious Fury’s ability to increase attack power. And the Fire Giant scares him for about an hour. But after a trial and error, Bushy did it all Elden Ringhis bosses, or in the case of those with multiple phases, eliminated each phase with a single blow. What made it even more impressive was that because Bushy used spells that also caused self-harm, such as the ability to increase attack power Seppuku, very often had 10% or less health during the race. We are talking about a glass cannon.

said Bush Kotaku that while he killed only the bosses “necessary to win the game”, he is sure that every phase of the boss can be done with one blow. Having said that, he shouted at some Elden Ring jerks that made it difficult for him.

“The last boss Radagon and Elden Terras were the hardest to shoot and I even had to break my own rule of thumb for any Azure comet to properly throw Elden Terras with one shot,” Bush said. “Some people have commented that Comet Azur should not be considered a one-shot anyway, as it is a series of hits and not a case of damage, but I disagree. “The ratio I give is a shotgun, it fires a shot but it hits many times.”

In total, Bushy spent just over 25 hours assembling, testing, and executing the full execution. He said he learned a lot Elden Ring from this and even got advice from the game community and commentators in his video.

“It was a fun journey with a lot of problem-solving solutions and I’m very surprised it was still possible in the beginning,” Bushy said. “In addition, after the video was posted, I received many comments and messages informing me of other items that could help or improve the construction, such as Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Strike with faith, the Rusted Anchor greataxe and the colossal Zweihander sword.” both have thrust attacks that allow another damage-taker called “instead of damage”, which is inaccessible to any non-push weapon – and Marais’s executioner’s sword for his only Ash of War that can cause a ton of damage. “I did not use any of these elements in the run, but they are all options that can work better in some cases compared to the one I used.”

I guess if there was one advantage to Bushy running, it might be this: Elden Ringthe best way to win is to “do a ton of damage” in one hit.
