Fallout Fan Turns Mini-Nuke Into Working Gaming PC

One inventive Fallout fan creates a functional PC inside a limited edition model of a mini-nuke, and it is impressive, to say the least.

Of the numerous longstanding video game franchises under the banner of Bethesda Softworks, Fallout is one that has had a tremendous impact on many in the gaming community. With mods and fan-made content being produced for various Fallout titles, some of which are over a decade old, Fallout has continued to maintain its longevity as a franchise for nearly thirty years. Now, one such fan of the series has built a PC using an unlikely piece of Fallout memorabilia.

Some fans may be surprised to know that the Fallout series has been going since 1997. While the release of Fallout 3 revitalized the series’ popularity in a major way, the lore and worldbuilding of Fallout has continued to evolve for over two decades. During that time, a lot of common items and equipment found in the multitude of franchise installments have been made into pieces of merchandise, with one such example being a mini-nuke.

Over on TikTok, a user named thefalloutcollector managed to make a functional PC out of a limited edition model of a mini-nuke, which serves as the in-game ammunition for the Fat Boy. This model of the mini-nuke comes from the Fallout Anthology collection, which included the first several games in the franchise, where the mini-nuke served as, essentially, a large game case.

Miraculously, thefalloutcollector has managed to re-purpose the mini-nuke into a container that houses a custom-built PC. The functionality of the PC is remarkably impressive, with the user managing to run the opening segment of Fallout: New Vegas with little to no issues. However, it might be harder to run something like Fallout 4 or Fallout 76 via the mini-nuke PC.

It’s amazing how much popularity Fallout has managed to maintain over the years. Despite the extremely long development cycles for Fallout titles, with the ten-year gap between Fallout 2 and Fallout 3 being the longest, Fallout fans seem to be as dedicated and passionate about the franchise as ever.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Fallout series going forward. While Fallout 76 has been making a steady comeback, in light of its less than stellar launch, many fans are wondering when the next mainline Fallout installment will release. It’s been nearly eight years since the release of Fallout 4and with the ongoing development of both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6as well as additional content for Fallout 76it does not seem like a new mainline Fallout game will release anytime soon.
