If you are looking for a powerful new gaming platform powered by an AMD processor, Dell has some interesting new options available right now. Today, the computer company announced the release of two Alienware laptops with Ryzen 6000, a Dell G15 laptop with Ryzen support and an Alienware Aurora desktop computer with the powerful Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which is now one of the best gaming processors you can to obtain.
Announced at CES in January, the Alienware m15 R7 and m17 R5 (say five times faster) are Dell’s new flagship gaming laptops at 15 and 17 inches. Each comes with a choice of Ryzen 7 or 9 6000 series processors, up to 16 GB or RAM and up to RTX 3080 Ti GPU.

Starting at $ 1,599, the Alienware m17 R5 is available with up to AMD Ryzen 9 6980HX and a choice of Nvidia graphics (up to RTX 3080 Ti) or AMD graphics (up to Radeon RX 6580M). Its 17-inch screen is available with 1080p or 4K resolution panels with refresh rates ranging from 120 to 360 Hz. The rather bulky toy platform weighs up to 7.3 pounds.
The lighter (but not yet lighter) Alienware m15 R7 starts at $ 1,499 and weighs in at 5.93 pounds. It is available with up to Ryzen 9 6900HX and up to RTX 3080 Ti graphics without AMD GPU options.
The new portable processors of the AMD Ryzen 6000 series operate up to 5 GHz (in the model 6980HX) with up to 8 cores and 16 threads. If you choose the m17 R5 with Radeon graphics, you can take advantage of the AMD SmartShift, which shares a maximum power limit between the CPU and the GPU for better performance. You can also get AMD Smart Access Memory technology that allows the CPU to make better use of GPU memory and AMD Smart Access Graphics technology that gives the graphics card more direct access to the screen and promises a 15% increase in performance. If you want an all-AMD option, you have to wait. While models with Nvidia graphics are falling today, the AMD Advantage version is coming “later this spring”.
The new laptops have the same design aesthetic as other latest generation Alienware laptops, but are only available in the “Dark Side of the Moon” dark gray. Both are available with a choice of keyboards, including one with the optional ultra-low profile Cherry MX mechanical switches, which we really enjoyed testing previous models. You can get either up to 4 TB of storage and up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM.
Dell G15 (5525)
If you want the latest Ryzen portable CPU, but can not afford the Alienware m15 R7, the new Dell G15 (5525) could be a better choice. Starting at $ 899, the affordable gaming laptop is available with up to Ryzen 9 6900HX and RTX 3070 Ti graphics, though it has no choice of AMD graphics.
The G15 (5525) has a similar appearance to the previous G15 with premium, but not alien-inspired, design and visible rear exhaust and door. Weighing in at 5.55 pounds, it’s slightly lighter than the Alienware m15 R7, but still has many of the most expensive features of the laptop, such as DDR5 RAM, fast NVMe storage and a choice of 1080p or 2K, high-speed displays renewal. Unfortunately, it does not have a mechanical keyboard option.

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14
Dell’s Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 has already been released, but a new configuration option, starting at $ 2,949, will feature the epic Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU. When we looked at the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, we were impressed by its 3D V-Cache, a 96MB stack of L3 cache that allows the 8-core, 16-thread chip to offer the best gaming performance on the market.
In our tests, the AMD chip beat all its competitors, including the expensive Intel Core i9-12900KS, in 1080p and 1440p games. However, if you do not play games, Intel’s top chips perform slightly better on single or multi-threaded tasks.
The Aurora Ryzen Edition R14 also features a new “Advanced CPU Liquid Cooler” that promises a 42 percent improvement over a standard liquid cooler. It also has six different AlienFX lighting zones that you can control for maximum bling.
