ASUS and Noctua first teamed up to create the traditional RTX 3070. But now they have released a new card that we see how it fits with the ASUS Noctua RTX 3080 OC review. The goal is to promote the most popular graphics card. Comes in more than four slots in a larger size though with the promise of better and quieter cooling. The new card brings the aesthetics of Noctua to the world of graphics cards.

ASUS Noctua RTX 3080 OC
Main clock speed
1440 MHz base, 1815 MHz growth
Dimensions
310 x 144.8 x 87.5 mm (12.2 x 5.7 x 3.45 inches)
Packaging and aesthetics
Coming in a meat box by hand it feels almost like a briefcase for your new graphics card. The large box was built to hold the large size of the Noctua 3080. Its dimensions are 310 x 144.8 x 87.5 mm (12.2 x 5.7 x 3.45 inches) which puts it in a wide 4.3 slot. So it’s no surprise that it needs such a big box to carry.

The Noctua version is based on ASUS’s TUF model but is improved on the original design. With a wide copper base plate to cover a wide area. Self-dye for optimal performance overall while keeping under heat cover including VRAM. With large heatsink for large thermal density. Which is then supported by two Noctua NF-A12x25 fans instead of three 92mm fans. The best fans are highly desirable for excellent air flow and static pressure characteristics. Which gives the card lower GPU and VRAM heat while running quieter than the original TUF. Promising an improvement of 4.5 dB, 3 ° C GPU, and 14 ° C in VRAM compared to the previous offer.
The structure itself looks strong and surprisingly beautiful. As with such a large heatsink and fans you would expect a lot of twists and GPU sagas. However, ASUS has done a good job of strengthening the card to prevent this from happening. With a well-connected structure, it prevents any soft areas. With a strong back plate and IO shield, it also connects very far points to create a strong structure. Avoiding over time can ruin the graphics card’s aesthetics in the long run.
Nocturne is known for its unique color choices of melon and brown. Which also brings it to 3080 which are fans. However, designing around lovers is a more toned-down color choice with less polarization. It uses dark brown and silver to create a potato-like design on the front. There is a hypnotizing pairing of eyes with spin lovers. Put it together it creates a well-designed and thought-out graphics card.

Specifications and price
1440 MHz base, 1815 MHz growth
310 x 144.8 x 87.5 mm (12.2 x 5.7 x 3.45 inches)
Modified TUF cooler with 2x NF-A12x25 120mm fan
2x HDMI 2.1, 3x DisplayPort 1.4a
Pro
- Freezing better than other solutions
- Excellent build quality to support this large size
- Adequate head room for overclocking
- Quiet and powerful performance
Cons
- More expensive than other traditional solutions
- The color scheme is not to everyone’s taste
- Uses older 10 GB model
The Noctua 3080 is based on a 10GB version of the GPU. Which is the older version with 10 GB GDDR6X memory. In the 320-bit memory interface, it clocks in at 19 Gbps giving it a bandwidth of 760.3 GB / s. The same is true of most card features.
It offers an overcrowded engine clock with a boost clock up to 1815 MHz. That’s what 8704 CUDA homes are likely to look like. It also has four maximum displays and five ports. Two are HDMI 2.1 and three are display port 1.4a. It uses only two 8-pin power connectors with a proposed power supply of 850W.
The cooling solution used is based on the ASUS TUF model. This increases the heatsink width to 120.50 mm, height to 42.20 mm, and depth to 94 mm. With a copper-plated base plate, size to include memory chips as well as for optimal warmth. Which is also supported by two NF-A12x25 120mm fans. For optimal air flow through the heatsink to remove all heat.
For the price, ASUS has announced a retail price of $ 950. The 3080, however, is much higher than the original price of $ 699. However, the current price of the 3080 is already very high, and it is not too far away. If you can find it anywhere in the store. Just using it found in Naviga for a very high inflation rate of $ 1,349.99.

Activity
We compared the use of ASUS Noctua RTX 3080 vs MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 3080. Especially by looking at the actual temperature of the cards, the frequency at which they run, and the speed of the fan. Using benchmarks and pressure tests we see how well the cards perform under great pressure.
Our test bench is made up of:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
- Cooler: BeQuiet Dark Rock 4
- RAM: Corsair 2x8GB 3200MHz Corsair Vengeance (XMP)
- Motherboard: AORUS X570 Pro (resizable bar enabled)
- PSU: AORUS 850 Pro GM
- Case: Cooler Master MF 700
From the results of the two cards, we see the same GPU clock usage and power consumption. This is one minute before and one minute after running the 10 minute farm. Although not entirely consistent it shows us the relative behavior of both.

The two cards have the same overclocking so we see that the frequency between the two remains the same. With a fixed rate of around 1500 MHz during the test and eventually increased to around 2000 MHz.
Then we look at fan RPMs. With Noctua, a much more aggressive reaction goes to 1369 RPM, while MSI goes to around 800-900 RPM and then rises. While the brown lovers go down and average around 1100 RPM. The MSI averaged around 1366 RPM and averaged around the same speed.
We can also see the two-card power draw. Both are rated at 340 W, about 20 W higher than the 3080 TDP, and the MSI GPU is capable of more power than most of the power connectors it uses.
Finally, we look at the GPU temperature and we see how well Noctua fans work to keep the temperature low. The GPU rises to 60.1 ° C and as fans enter, it drops below 58 ° C. While the MSI temperature rises even when fans start to speculate. After four minutes it rises to 70.7 degrees Celsius and then drops to about 69 degrees. With the ramp down it takes longer after stopping than the Noctua card.
With low RPM and large size, fans pass quietly. Although we don’t have the tools to compare sounds to really compare their levels. None of the cards were particularly noisy. The Noctua option causes less confusing weather but you can hear the coyote screaming.
However, it has the ability to keep the GPU temperature very low. Better response to the work bar than an MSI card with a better default fan curve.
The result
Overall the ASUS Noctua RTX 3080 is an excellent graphics card structure. Gives you the famous brown of full size lovers. With a potato-like design, it is a unique design with excellent cooling. Ability to perform well in the long run as well as it puts pressure on performance. This is the best choice for a card if you like the design and really have a place to put it. It comes at a higher price though with the card premium. So if you have the device this could be the card for you. And we’re likely to see more than just collaborations under the line.
